Rep. Yarmuth Announces Hiring of District Director

LOUISVILLE – Today, Congressman John Yarmuth (KY-03) announced the hiring of Nicole Yates to serve in the role of District Director, where she will oversee operations and manage staff in the Congressman’s Downtown and Southend district offices.

Yates currently serves as Director of Scheduling Boards and Commissions for Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer, and has previously worked in outreach and government relations positions for Congressman Baron Hill of Indiana, President Barack Obama’s campaign in Indiana, and the American Cancer Society in Louisville.

“I’m excited that Nicole is joining our team and I know I’ll be able to count on her expertise and deep knowledge of our community moving forward,” said Yarmuth. “Constituent service has been a top priority of mine since I took office more than a decade ago, and Nicole’s history of selfless work to improve her community and advocate for her fellow citizens will make her an effective leader of the already great staff I have here in Louisville.”

Yates replaces Carolyn Tandy, the Congressman’s longtime District Director who left the office last month to become Diversity Director for Texas Roadhouse.

"Nicole Yates has been a key member of my team from the first day of my administration in 2011. Her deft ability to juggle many important responsibilities, from scheduling to boards and commissions, is a testament to her leadership and skills,” said Fischer. “I will personally miss her judgment, honesty and passion, but I'm pleased that she's going to work for America's best Congressman, John Yarmuth, as a leader in his Louisville office."

Yates will begin her new role in mid-October.
