Rep. Yarmuth Statement on the President's Budget Proposal

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman John Yarmuth (KY-3) issued the following statement on President Obama’s FY2016 budget proposal:

“Today, President Obama laid out a thorough proposal to invest in human capital and responsibly fund our nation’s priorities, all while taking concrete steps to further reduce our deficit. By promoting the growth and expansion of our middle class through better access to affordable childcare and higher education, we can build a workforce that is better equipped to compete in the growing global economy. By closing tax loopholes and making necessary investments in our infrastructure, we can rebuild our nation while providing opportunities for all American families, not just a select few.

“The President’s proposal is a continuation of many of the common sense priorities outlined in his State of the Union speech, and I believe provides a stark contrast in the philosophies and values of our two parties. I look forward to debating these differences as we begin our work in the House Budget Committee this week."
